The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to agricultural research for development to combat hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and natural resource degradation in Africa. Founded in 1967, IITA is a member of CGIAR, a global partnership for a secure food future, and is headquartered in Ibadan, Nigeria, with numerous centers and stations across sub-Saharan Africa.

The institute collaborates with public and private partners, governments, universities, and local organizations to develop innovative agricultural solutions, improve food security, increase the productivity of tropical crops (such as cassava, maize, soybeans, plantains, yams, and cowpeas), reduce risks for producers and consumers, and promote sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural systems.
