Reliance Health, operating primarily under the RelianceHMO brand, is a Nigerian health technology (HealthTech) company founded in 2017 by Femi Kuti, Opeyemi Olumekun, and Matthew Esho. The organization was established with the goal of revolutionizing access to affordable, quality healthcare in emerging markets, particularly in Nigeria, where a large portion of the population has limited or costly access to health insurance.
Unlike traditional health insurers, Reliance Health adopts a fully integrated, technology-enabled Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) model. This means that it manages both insurance (financing) and part of the delivery of care, allowing for greater control over costs and quality.
